Digital twin content engineer (Omniverse / OpenUSD)
We are looking for a Digital twin content engineer to create, prepare, optimize, and maintain 3D content for NVIDIA Omniverse and OpenUSD based digital-twin scenes. The ideal candidate combines strong 3D artistic skills with technical understanding of real-time rendering, asset pipelines, and scene assembly. You will work with designers, XR developers, engineers, data specialists, and client stakeholders to turn CAD, BIM, DCC, and other source assets into clean, performant, simulation-ready virtual environments.
Key responsibilities:
Create and prepare 3D assets, environments, and scene layouts for Omniverse and OpenUSD workflows
Assemble digital-twin scenes for industrial, facility, product, or enterprise visualization use cases
Convert, clean, structure, and optimize CAD/BIM/DCC content for real-time and RTX-based visualization
Organize USD/OpenUSD stages using clear hierarchy, naming, references, layers, variants, payloads, instancing, and reusable asset libraries
Create and tune PBR/MDL materials, lighting, cameras, scale, pivots, UVs, LODs, and scene composition for high visual quality and good performance
Prepare assets for simulation-ready workflows, including collision/physics readiness, semantic metadata, custom attributes, validation, and performance checks
Collaborate with software developers to automate parts of the content pipeline using Python, USD APIs, Omniverse Kit extensions, or related tooling
Work with cross-functional teams to translate business, engineering, and design requirements into interactive 3D scenes and digital twin experiences
Maintain documentation, asset standards, naming conventions, and reusable templates for scalable project delivery
Support demos, proof of concepts, client workshops, and troubleshooting of Omniverse scene, asset, rendering, or pipeline issues
Required skills and experience:
Familiarity with NVIDIA Omniverse, USD/OpenUSD, or a strong motivation to work deeply with USD-based workflows
Strong 3D content creation background with a portfolio or project examples in real-time 3D, visualization, games, architecture, manufacturing, XR, or digital twins
Hands-on experience with at least one major DCC or real-time 3D tool such as Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, Houdini, Unreal Engine, Unity, or equivalent
Practical understanding of 3D asset preparation: topology, UVs, textures, materials, lighting, scale, pivots, hierarchy, optimization, and LODs
Experience preparing large or complex scenes/assets for real-time rendering or interactive applications
Basic scripting or automation capability, preferably Python, and willingness to collaborate with developers on pipeline tooling
Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate clearly in English
Nice to have:
Direct experience with NVIDIA Omniverse, Omniverse Kit, Nucleus, OpenUSD/USD composition, USD Python APIs, or custom Omniverse extensions
Knowledge of USD concepts such as layers, references, variants, payloads, instancing, metadata, and schemas
Experience with CAD/BIM/PLM or industrial visualization data, for example Revit, Navisworks, SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, Inventor, VRED, or point clouds
Experience with simulation, robotics, synthetic data, sensors, physics, Isaac Sim, or industrial digital-twin use cases
Understanding of asset validation, performance profiling, optimization, version control, Git/Perforce, CI/CD, or automated content pipelines
Experience with XR, AR/VR, WebGL/WebGPU, cloud streaming, or interactive visualization delivery
