Overview
Come join our team as a Direct Support Professional for Stride Services where you will make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities! As part of our team, you will provide care to individuals with disabilities.
Stride Services is part of the Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice at Utah State University. Stride is committed to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families. We provide services to youth and adults with developmental disabilities living in Cache Valley and southern Idaho. Our services focus on inclusion and integration and individualized supports that ensure access to community, independence, and productivity.

Responsibilities
Must be willing to toilet, feed, transfer, transport and otherwise care for people with disabilities.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Utah driver’s license to perform essential job responsibilities, such as to transport clients as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

This position requires moderate physical effort. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position, including lifting up to 25 pounds, walking and standing. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.

The Institute for Disability Research, Policy, & Practice is Utah’s federally designated University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). The IDRPP was established in 1972 and was the first UCEDD program in the U.S. to focus on the educational and social needs of children and adults with disabilities. The IDRPP has since grown into one of the largest UCEDD programs in the nation and is recognized as a pioneer in research, training, technical assistance, and services for children and adults with disabilities, families, and the professionals who serve them.

Funding Statement
The Institute for Disability Research, Policy, & Practice is one of the largest research and outreach centers at USU, and we are largely funded through grants, contracts, and fee-for-service programs. All staff positions at the IDRPP are contingent upon funding, and all senior staff at the IDRPP with graduate degrees are responsible for helping to generate funding to support our operations and growth.
