Primary Work Location Monument Health Rapid City Hospital Department RCH Pediatric Hospitalist Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Job Summary The Director of Hospital Based Medicine provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for hospital-based service lines, including Women’s & Children’s Services, Hospital Based Service Lines, and Community Health. The Director ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, facility readiness, strong financial performance, and effective community engagement. Supports clinical and non-clinical teams through training and oversight. Aligns operations with organizational strategy and regulatory standards. Coordinates repairs and facility improvements. Ensures cleanliness, safety, and readiness of facilities. Prepares and manages budgets. Monitors financial performance and leads cost-management efforts. Develops growth strategies and identifies new opportunities. Leads quality improvement initiatives. Ensures compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements. Ensures transparent communication with staff and clinicians. Ensures staffing levels match needs. Leads emergency and disaster planning for departments under supervision. Builds community and physician relationships. All other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements Required : Education - Bachelors degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or related field Experience - 5+ years Leadership Experience Preferred : Education - Masters degree in Related Field Physical Requirements: Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
