Job Description:
Join Our Team as Director of Guidance at Easterseals NH! We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Director of Guidance to join the Easterseals NH Educational Program. In this impactful leadership role, the Director of Guidance will oversee and support School Counselors while fostering students’ academic, career, personal, and social development. Through individual counseling, group initiatives, and school-wide programming, this position plays a vital role in empowering students to reach their full potential and successfully prepare for their future paths.
Responsibilities:
Managing student records including transcripts and course selection to meet individual needs and goals.
Conduct/Manage/oversee orientation activities for new students. Assist students in mapping and developing an educational plan with the collaborative teams.
Provide projects in collaboration with teachers that are tailored to each student’s ability. Provide consultation to staff members regarding State Frameworks for Learning.
Assist in preparing, ordering, and evaluating curriculum for courses. Provide students opportunities to explore post-secondary options.
Prepare exiting transcripts and letters of recommendations.
Develop outline and description of courses that are designed to meet the requirements of each student’s IEP and capitalize on student interest. Strong behavior management skills to manage classroom crisis situations.
Keep accurate grades and attendance reports. Provide student advocacy and career counseling. Attend teacher meetings and other meetings as scheduled. Responsible for documentation and student reports.
Support and participate in the implementation and practice of Collaborative Problem Solving.
Provide resources for teachers and families related to independent living, post graduate opportunities and community participation for students.
Create and manage job shadowing and pre-employment skills training with assigned students. Supervise and mentor school counselors Manage communication with families and school districts on school behaviors and academic progress.
Management of Medicaid reports and programs for the school districts. Oversee Individual and Group Counseling as stated in the students’ IEP.
Develop schedules and plans to help student meet their needs for graduation. Fulfill all duties as required for Title IX.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree from accredited college or university in Education, Counseling, or related field
2 years + experience in education, particularly career planning and pre-employment
Guidance Counselor Administration certification preferred
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Hours: This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position.
Compensation: Starting $67,500 annually.
