Job Title EHS Technician Job Description Summary Reporting to the Global EHS Manager, the Environmental, Health and Safety Technician works within a facility management organization that provides a variety of O&M services that include R&D Labs, critical data environments and commercial office space. The EHS Technician is responsible for completing all assigned tasks while maintaining a constant focus on environmental, health and safety requirements Job Description Inspect   site   for batteries. Pickup batteries from all locations. Package and prepare batteries per shipping regulations. Coordinate   batteries   shipment, schedule shipments, take photographs of shipments and sign   on   behalf of   the client . Submit documentation to   onsite   client   EHS Engineer.   Inspect   site   for electronic waste. Pickup electronic waste from all AMD locations and deliver to the central e-waste collection area. Coordinate shipments of electronic waste. Submit documentation to   onsite   client   EHS Engineer.   Inspect   site   for hazardous waste.   Pick up   hazardous waste from all locations. Package and prepare hazardous waste per hazardous waste regulations. Coordinate shipments of hazardous waste. Submit documentation to   onsite   client   EHS Engineer.   Perform   chemical inventories to support provincial chemical reporting requirements.   Perform ventilation surveys and verify the lab hood   face   velocities .   Support labs with empty box management (shipping and identification of heavy combustible storage locations .)   Support labs for waste disposal/reclaim by identification and shipping of waste and   reclaim .   Inspect labs for personal/residential equipment used for industrial use. ( i.e   small clips on cooling fans to cool test equipment.)   Submit   request   to CW staff to manage issues found inside the lab.   Perform monthly EHS inspections such as indoor inspection, site walk through (inside and outside site), inspect the UPS room weekly, monthly fire extinguisher inspection, eye wash station/shower,   f irst aid kit and AED inspection.   Inspect all soldering stations weekly to ensure engineers are not using lead solder. Inspect ventilation filters and report results to EHS   engineer   ( i.e   PPE   violations, photos, etc.)   Perform noise surveys   and support audiometric testing events .   Act as a member of the emergency response team (ERT) and crisis management team (CMT). Support volunteer ERTs and related response capabilities to meet EHS Standards and site needs at Facilities.   Support annual evacuation drills and other site ERT exercises as required by EHS Standards, programs and regulatory requirements and   maintain   response capabilities and   proficiency .   Update and support all evacuation planning, map production, assembly area marking, etc.   Review, approve and audit hot work activities.   Review, approve and audit job safety analysis documentation for certain tasks.   Submit energy metrics in   online   tool. This includes electricity, water, waste, etc.   Perform Air Permit equipment inventory.   Identify   workspace ergonomic concerns.   Attend and support EHS training programs based on tasks performed.   Perform refrigerant inventory and work   with   facilities   team to   identify   all HVAC equipment with leaks .   Attend compliance audits and work to correct any alleged violations   identified .   Distribute and Safekeep COVID PPE such as   mask   and gloves.   Comply with   company policies and safety requirements/programs.   REQUIREMENTS:   High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience .   Minimum of 2   years   EHS experience .   Must   have   flexibility   to work overtime and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays, and serve on an on-call basis, as may be dictated by the needs of the business .   Must be able to use personal computers/MS Office experience   required .   Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, journals, technical, procedures, or governmental regulations .   Ability to effectively communicate   with   management and client representatives .   CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:   Must   possess   a valid   driver   license.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS:     While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, walk, reach, climb,   stoop , kneel, crouch/crawl and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth   perception   and ability to adjust focus.  Reasonable   accommodations   may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   WORK CONDITIONS:   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is   frequently   exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, unsafe places, fumes/airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
