Overview
As a member of the technical staff, the electrical engineer is responsible for designing new electronic products up to full production. This includes specification reviews, development program timelines and reports, design reviews, simple mechanical designs, documentation packages, pre-production builds, and production transfers. This engineer will also be responsible for technical support of more mature electronic products.
- Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000+
(Salary will be determined based on experience and at the hiring manager's discretion
Responsibilities
Design, maintain, implement, and improve electrical instruments and equipment.
Supervise and train project staff as needed.
Inspect completed projects to ensure conformance with design standards.
Apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
Communicate with customers to define project scope and address deficiencies
Review completed design documentation for accuracy and value engineering alternatives
Attend coordination meetings to identify changes in electrical design
Work closely with other trades engineers to coordinate work installation pathways
Read and interpret contract drawings to identify any gaps in available data
Create shop drawings to transfer 3D design to real-world applications
Track and analyze data to reduce gaps between design and actual work
Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
Build 3D models using Revit/Evolve and NavisWorks.
3D Modeling of Electrical Components
BIM coordination including clash detection and resolution using NavisWorks Manage.
Read and Interpret Plans and Drawings
Upload our models and follow the GC lead BIM coordination process through to Model sign off.
Mentor and train Detailers in the production of the detailed shop drawings.
Work with and maintain relationships with our Operation team, the General Contractor and MEP Trade team members.
Assist with the development and maintenance of FSG standards.
Produce Bill of materials for procurement/labor tracking.
Pertinent Submittal Review
Prefab Detailing
Develop prefab drawings for production.
Record Drawings as Required
Generate RFI’s as Required
Qualifications
Engineering Degree. Electrical Preferred.
Interpersonal and customer service skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Multitasking and organizational skills
Ability to answer a high volume of calls and/or emails daily
Ability to share work among a customer service team
Attentiveness and patience
Time-management skills
Ability to find the positive in every situation.
Proficient in AutoCAD
A plus if experienced with Revit, Navisworks, Evolve Revit Add-on, Trimble MEP, and Microsoft Suite
