This is an amazing Opportunity for and Engine Technician at Edwards Air Force Base location on 1st or 2nd Shift.
This will be 1st shift hours 06:00am - 02:30pm (must be able to work as needed 2nd shift hours 02:00pm - 10:30pm).
Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Engine Technician Grade Level 3 to serve as a member of our F135 Field Team supporting the F-35, F-22 and Special Programs at Edwards AFB, CA.
What You Will Do
Under direction of supervisor, working lead and/or dock chiefs follow specified written work instructions, assembly drawings and/or blueprints to disassemble, inspect, repair, test, and assemble Pratt & Whitney military aircraft engines.
Utilize standard and precision measuring instruments and gages to check and calculate dimensions, as required by instructions. Perform routine maintenance and request adjustments to tools and equipment, as necessary to meet process requirements.
Utilize computer terminals to obtain technical data and reference materials. Read and interpret technical orders, manufacturers’ manuals, maintenance bulletins, blueprints, schematic drawings and other technical information. Utilize technical data to determine the required tools, support equipment and parts needed to perform assigned tasks. Ensure adherence to technical orders and compliance to P&W quality policies.
Ensure proper handling and storage of parts in assigned area/department in accordance with P&W policies.
Utilize safety practices and procedures. Comply with established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area.
Communicate all difficulties to dock chiefs, working lead and/or supervisor, as applicable.
Required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications, as required for assigned area.
Will be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
May be required to work overtime, rotating shifts, uncommon hours, weekends…etc.
You will be required to work atop maintenance platforms, ascend/descend maintenance stands, lift 25 pounds to a height of 4 feet, and position self to perform maintenance/inspections underneath engine rails and inside the exhaust duct.
The salary range for this role is $41.13 to $46.86. ; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift
This is a grade 3
Qualifications You Must Have
High School Diploma/GED
Comprehensive knowledge of gas turbine engine construction, related inspection methods, disassembly methods, assembly methods, machine shop practices and overhaul/repair procedures.
1+ years of related military aircraft engine maintenance experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift and on weekend as needed.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer
Prior Military Aerospace Engine Maintenance experience.
Hoist and forklift operation experience is a plus.
Familiar with test cell and flight line maintenance operations is a plus.
Engine blade blend is a plus
Borescope experience, familiarity with flight line maintenance operations, knowledge of non- powered Aerospace Ground Equipment and a confirmed ability to use and interpret electronic technical manuals is preferred.
Depot-Level (D-Level) or Intermediate level (I-level) maintenance experience is a plus
Air frame and Power Plant License
