Job Title Environmental Health and Safety Technician I Agency Texas A&M University Department Environmental Health & Safety Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description A Glimpse of the Job The Environmental Health and Safety Technician I, under supervision, performs assigned tasks to gain knowledge and actively contribute to supporting a designated area within an environmental health and safety program. Essential Duties/Tasks Testing Fume Hoods-Learns and Assists with: Qualitative and quantitative testing on chemical fume hoods using specialized equipment Visually inspecting chemical fume hoods and reports mechanical malfunctions for repairs Generating test reports and documents the results in the BioRAFT software system Updating BioRAFT with the most current user and equipment information Submitting repair requests for chemical fume hood repairs and tracks them to ensure repairs are made in a timely manner Routine Functions Routine tasks in any functional area with regards to environmental health and safety Safety inspections Hazard identification and risk assessments Safety equipment calibration, inspections, and maintenance Proper waste management practices Records & Reporting maintains records of inspections and how to prepare reports Training & Development Participates in training and development opportunities Emergency Response Responds with other EHS personnel to emergencies and assists emergency responders as needed What You Need to Know Salary : $15.85/hour Cover Letter/Resume: A cover letter and resume will assist us in our review of your application materials.
