The Senior Environmental Planner will play a key role in leading transportation and infrastructure Environmental Assessment (EA) projects across Ontario, with a strong focus on MTO and transit-related assignments. This role includes leading project delivery, supporting major transportation pursuits, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Parsons’ infrastructure practice. Key Responsibilities Lead Environmental Assessment projects for transportation and infrastructure assignments, including MTO, municipal, and transit projects
Prepare and oversee environmental documentation including Environmental Screening Reports, Environmental Study Reports, TPAP documentation, Environmental Impact Statements, and Environmental Effect Evaluations
Lead consultation and coordination with agencies, municipalities, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders
Support and lead proposal preparation for major transportation infrastructure pursuits
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and intermediate staff
Support environmental permitting and approvals associated with transportation infrastructure projects
Contribute to strategic growth within Parsons’ Ontario transportation market
Skills & Qualifications 8+ years of environmental planning experience in Ontario
Direct experience delivering projects for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is strongly preferred
Extensive knowledge of the MTO Class Environmental Assessment process and related provincial transportation environmental requirements
Experience leading or supporting transportation infrastructure projects involving MTO, Metrolinx, TTC, and/or municipal roadway infrastructure
Strong understanding of Ontario environmental legislation, policies, approvals, and permitting frameworks
Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
Excellent technical writing, communication, and client management skills
Post-secondary education in planning, environmental science/studies, biology/ecology, geography, or a related field
Membership (or eligibility for membership) with OPPI/CIP (RPP/MCIP) is considered an asset
French language skills are considered an asset

Salary Range: $85,000 - $135,000
