Department: 03454 AHNMG Pediatric Developmental & Behavioral Health: 1014 Forsyth St - Pediatrics: Child Development Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hou rs Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: day shift Pay Range: $30.70 - $46.05 Job Summary: Administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents. Supervisory and teaching responsibilities, including documentation of supervision, coordination of curricular content with program director, and evaluation of residents. Responsible for appropriate behavioral science curriculum components and coordinate these with the general curriculum of the residency program director to include regular presentations, workshops, group meetings, and invited guests. Maintain an educational environment conducive to educating the students in the core clerkship curriculum. Works closely with Palliative Care and Geriatric divisions- Develop and teach the geriatric/palliative care behavioral science curriculum. Rounds with the Family Medicine Inpatient Service team, nursing home, and home visits assisting physicians and patients with Behavioral Science needs. Provides care and counseling in an outpatient setting at Family Health Center. Actively participates in Medical Staff and Hospital Committees. Anchors Job Criteria - Major Job Functions Measurement Resident Education Administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas: Behavioral Science, Medical Knowledge, Practice Based Learning and Improvement, Communication/Interpersonal Skills, Professionalism; and Systems-Based Practice. Devote sufficient time to the educational program to fulfill supervisory and teaching responsibilities, including documentation of supervision, coordination of curricular content with program director, and evaluation of residents. Develop appropriate behavioral science curriculum components and coordinate these with the general curriculum of the residency program director to include regular presentations, workshops, group meetings, and invited guests. Design, execute, facilitate, train Standard Patient Role-Play Scenarios with Residents. Teach practical application of behavioral science concepts on FMIS. Develop curriculum, and execute and teach didactics in law-related issues to residents (ie domestic violence, mandated reporting, hospital policies and procedures, boundaries, communication with attorneys). Teach Business Practice Management by teaching didactics regarding law-related issues (ie contracts, expert testimony, statutory and constitutional and regulatory law issues). Teach office management issues (personality typology, managing people, identifying skills vs. talents of office staff). Facilitate Team Case Discussions with Faculty Physicians Geriatric Fellowship Education - teach the geriatric/palliative care behavioral science curriculum ACGME accreditation action, evaluations by residents of faculty and program, Program administrative support will be provided through the orientation of interns, including 2nd and 3rd year interns; participating in Motivational Interviewing training of residents; participating in the annual program evaluation; participating periodically in general residency activities such as recruitment, advisor for remediation, residency committees; attend and prepare presentations and workshops for Family Health Center morning report, Tuesday teaching sessions at the residency site and Department Grand Rounds; Behavioral science didactics during Tuesday Teaching; and perform any additional responsibilities as indicated by the Chief of the Department of Family medicine and the Director of medical Education at the MCCG.
