Description of Work The Health Care Technician I / CNA will support our patients as they work toward the goals and objectives of their individual treatment plans. This position manages the milieu on each unit through close observation and interaction with all patients. They will assist patients with daily living skills. Additionally, they will also be responsible for carrying out other duties as delegated by and completed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $35,360.00 - $38,688.00   *A Sign-on bonus of $2,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval. Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:   Basic knowledge of a variety of psychiatric, medical and/or other related conditions. Basic knowledge of nurse aide skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, staff and others. Ability to maintain professional and even-tempered demeanor and work relationships. This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events. We Will Be Recruiting For Multiple Positions With This Post. Your Application Will Be Considered For All Noted Open Positions. We are currently recruiting for 12-hour Day shifts and 12-hour Night shifts. Some holidays, weekends, overtime, and flexibility required. Hours are primarily 6:45am - 7:15pm or 6:45pm - 7:15am, with an 8-hour shift scheduled every other week for full-time (40 hour) staff. JFK offers a part-time option (36 hour) with prorated salary and benefits. Shift Premiums:   Nights: 20% Weekends: 5% Evenings: 20% Holiday Premium: 50% *Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus  To  qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate. An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if: The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date) The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees. About the Facility:  JFK is a 68-bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of adults with substance use disorders from the 44 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats individuals with substance abuse and psychiatric diagnoses. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
