We invite Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners to explore the impact they can make by joining our Hospital Medicine team at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, North Carolina. Highlights of this Role Mixed rotation schedule including day, swing, and night shifts Schedule includes weekends, holidays, and overnight coverage as needed 100% inpatient adult medicine High-acuity community hospital serving Cabarrus County and surrounding communities Position based at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, NC Collaborative Hospital Medicine team with physician and APP support Epic electronic medical record What You’ll Do Perform comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, routine assessments, and develop appropriate treatment plans for hospitalized adult patients. Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in the inpatient setting. Admit, round on, cross-cover, and discharge patients while collaborating with supervising physicians. Order, interpret, and manage laboratory, radiology, and diagnostic studies. Prescribe medications and treatments within the scope of practice. Document all patient encounters, observations, interventions, and clinical decisions in a timely and clinically appropriate manner. Coordinate care with consulting physicians, nursing, pharmacy, case management, rehabilitation services, and ancillary departments. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate to optimize patient throughput, quality outcomes, and patient safety. Serve as a patient and family advocate while promoting exceptional patient-centered care. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, service delivery optimization, and evidence-based practice. Adhere to departmental productivity, access, quality, and clinical care standards. Follow established protocols to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care. Actively participate in department meetings, committees, educational opportunities, and team collaboration. Model Atrium Health Core Values. Comply with Medical Group Minimum Work Standards. Demonstrated critical thinking and sound clinical decision-making. Who You Are Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, or other acute inpatient experience preferred. New graduates will be considered. Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current NCCPA certification. Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing Practice from an accredited program with current Acute Care (ACNP or AGACNP) board certification, active North Carolina RN and NP licensure. Current North Carolina licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider. Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority. BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) required. Strong critical thinker with excellent clinical judgment. Effective communicator with the ability to prioritize and make timely decisions in a dynamic inpatient environment.
