Johns Manville is currently hiring Industrial Maintenance Mechanic at our Penbryn, NJ plant. We are searching for individuals who are dependable, responsible, and quality-minded who have a history of working safely in a manufacturing environment.
This role will conduct effective problem solving and troubleshooting processes to develop corrective actions to repair and maintain all electrical, mechanical, and facility related functions, equipment, systems, buildings and/or physical structures in a manner that allows the plant to operate effectively and efficiently, working from general instructions from the plant management team, and all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance, and Protection. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor under supervision of the Plant Engineer.
We follow the DuPont Schedule, employees work 12-hour shifts over a 28-day repeat cycle. Working four-night shifts, three days off, work three-day shifts, one day off, work three-night shifts, three days off and work four-day shifts, then seven days off.
What You Bring to the Team:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Minimum of 5 years of verified experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and drawings.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence legibly.
Computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Experience with machine safety.
Experience with lockout/tagout.
Lift truck operations, JLG, etc. and the ability to obtain a license to operate.
Your Day to Day:
Be an active participant in the safety process and practice safe work habits at all times.
Perform mechanical preventative maintenance according to an established schedule on all equipment. Inspect machinery, lubricate and make adjustments or repairs as needed and take faulty equipment out of operation until repaired.
Effectively troubleshoot all mechanical equipment to identify issues and take necessary corrective actions to repair, replace or rebuild.
Maintain an open and candid working relationship with coworkers from all departments and immediate supervisor/manager.
Read, interpret and follow blueprints and sketches, making all measurements and calculations necessary to complete the job.
Make out work orders, requisitions, inspection reports, time distribution, material usage, etc., and perform other clerical duties necessary to maintain proper records relative to the work performed electronically (SAP)
Inspects/maintains plant buildings and maybe required to cast concrete forms and bollards as needed.
May operate mobile equipment.
During cleanouts and emergencies, will work with maintenance employees, performing any duties to get equipment back into operations in minimum time.
Must maintain the necessary tools for above classification where required and be proficient in their use and care.
Wear all personal protective equipment as required by management, including but not limited to all or some of the following; protective shoes, glasses, ear plugs, bump cap or hard hat, gloves, dust mask, or respirator.
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly at all times.
Complete all necessary training assignments.
Performs other related duties as directed including duties of lower classification.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
