We believe that while good design makes for a good product, human-centered design makes for an excellent one.  Contributions As an Instructional Designer , you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive onboarding and training program in support of our Federal client. You will work as part of a cross-functional team—including designers and technical experts—engaging with stakeholders and end-users to develop an effective approach and ensure adoption of new systems and processes. Responsibilities: Outline and understand end users to create training appropriate to meet their diverse needs Analyze existing training materials and business processes to identify learning gaps/needs and opportunities for improvement Research appropriate learning content and coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to structure learning paths  Develop interactive and engaging training materials using a variety of modalities (videos, user guides, gamified learning, etc.) with learner theories in mind (ADDIE, Bloom’s, SAM, etc.) to create dynamic learning experiences  Determine utilization of knowledge checks and compliance tracking  Lead the training development and delivery Establish metrics and measure user adoption  Facilitate learning management system administration, usage, and develop feedback loop for enhancement  Consider long-term governance for sustaining training programs and materials  Qualifications Ability to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust Security Clearance 4+ years of experience in Education, Training, HR, or related field Thorough knowledge of the full training life cycle and demonstrated ability to develop and implement Knowledge of contemporary learning management software platforms Experience with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques Ability to convey complex information in a way that people understand Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including UX/UI designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and change managers  A collaborative nature with excellent written communication and presentation skills   Familiarity with Design Thinking and a natural curiosity for solving problems coupled with strong analytical skills   Experience working in a project-based environment   Proficiency in MS Office and in database software Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Training and Instructional Design Bonus Points Previous work experience in or with the federal government  Previous work experience as a consultant  About steampunk Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $140,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position. Annual salary is just one aspect of Steampunk’s total compensation package for employees.
