Role Summary The Lead Programmer analyst is responsible for leading the programming, testing, and delivery of batch systems to meet client requirements and provide end-to-end technology support. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and client teams to design, build, and sustain a comprehensive system platform aligned with business and regulatory needs. Post implementation, the role ensures batch systems operate smoothly, remain current, and meet quality and performance expectations. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end batch delivery, including client interactions and ownership of deliverables Program, configure, and test batch systems to meet client and legislative requirements Create, review, and maintain analysis documents and test plans aligned with requirements Perform system analysis for low to medium complexity projects Conduct unit and integration testing of own code Ensure post-implementation stability and ongoing system readiness Oversee automated production job monitoring and ensure timely resolution and escalation of failures Translate client requirements into system specifications in collaboration with cross-functional teams Review configuration, testing outcomes, and analysis documentation prepared by team members Drive technical excellence, quality assurance, and adherence to delivery standards Support operations and shared services activities Coach and mentor team members; lead training and knowledge enhancement initiatives Contribute to continuous improvement and client/organizational initiatives Work Allocation Technical / Domain Knowledge, System Development & Quality Assurance – 75% Operations / Shared Services Support – 10% Coaching, Colleague Development & Knowledge Enhancement – 10% Continuous Improvement & Client / Organizational Initiatives – 5% Skills & Technical Requirements Advanced proficiency in SQL and SAS programming OR JCL/DB2 Strong debugging skills to resolve complex programming and system defects Advanced DB2 relational database and data modeling skills Strong understanding of data flows, batch processing, and common data stores Deep expertise in SAS functions and utilities Strong knowledge of JCL and Mainframe concepts Advanced knowledge of batch-related proprietary software products and system utilities Domain & Functional Skills Strong knowledge of US Benefits Domain: Health Management, Defined Benefits, Defined Contributions Health or Retirement domain experience preferred Strong understanding of client requirements, compliance, and legislation Ability to work independently and lead client-facing batch engagements Collaboration & Communication Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to influence teams toward solution-oriented outcomes Experience working effectively with global and distributed teams Ensure clear and timely communication across all delivery channels Education & Experience B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or ECE OR BCA with MCA Prior experience with Alight, Aon, or Wipro is an added advantage Relevant experience in batch systems and enterprise environments preferred Work Conditions Flexible working hours based on business needs. Collaboration with global and offshore teams. Mobility across India locations as per organizational requirements. Participation in training sessions, business routines, and office/offsite meetings.
