Roach & Associates, PLLC is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide administrative and legal support to our growing firm. This position plays a key role in preparing legal documents, coordinating Board meetings, maintaining District records, supporting attorneys in a variety of legal and administrative matters, and communicating professionally with clients, consultants, District Directors, and other stakeholders.

While the position provides opportunities for learning and involvement across many areas of the firm, the role offers the opportunity to grow beyond traditional legal administrative support into governance, legislative affairs, Board education, research, writing, and other initiatives that support Texas special districts and the communities they serve.
What you’ll do:
Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and the legal team
Prepare, edit, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, resolutions, agreements, notices, meeting materials, and other firm documents
Assist with preparing Board meeting agendas, exhibits, and follow-up materials
Maintain electronic and physical client files, records, and executed agreements
Manage attorney calendars and monitor statutory, Board meeting, and project deadlines
Attend occasional evening Board meetings as assigned and prepare accurate meeting minutes
Communicate professionally with District Directors, engineers, operators, consultants, developers, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders
Coordinate document execution, filing, scanning, record management, and general office support
Conduct research and assist with legal, governance, administrative, and special projects
As experience develops, assist with legislative and regulatory research affecting Texas special districts and local governments
Support the preparation of client alerts, newsletters, educational materials, presentations, conferences, and other special projects
Help maintain organized, efficient, and consistent legal and administrative workflows

Preferred Qualifications
Previous legal office or administrative experience preferred but not required
Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as Canva
Willingness to learn municipal law, local government, and the unique legal issues affecting Texas special districts
Ability to attend occasional evening Board meetings and local events
