What You'll Do The Edmonds New Start Center (EDNSC) is a new 24/7 Emergency Housing facility operated by the YWCA of Seattle | King | Snohomish, located in Edmonds, Washington. The center provides safe, supportive housing for up to 45 individuals transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing. Clients have access to a range of onsite services, including case management, life skills training, and connections to healthcare, employment, and other community resources, all designed to support their journey toward stability and self sufficiency. The center fosters a compassionate, community focused environment where clients can rebuild their lives with dignity, independence, and hope. Life Coaches work with clients in an emergency housing setting to support their transition into permanent housing. While daytime staff maintain ongoing caseloads and provide intensive case management, the Thursday through Monday, 11:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Overnight Life Coach plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all residents during overnight hours. This position provides crisis intervention, de-escalation, safety monitoring, and client support throughout the night, responds to resident needs and emergencies, conducts regular facility rounds, completes required documentation, and helps ensure the overall safety and security of the building. Overnight Life Coaches also assist with new client arrivals when needed, support residents in accessing immediate resources, reinforce program expectations, and communicate important client updates to the daytime team to promote continuity of care. Weekend overnight staff support all clients in the program rather than carrying an assigned caseload and help ensure residents remain connected to services that support long term housing stability and self sufficiency.
