Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain constant surveillance of the pool, deck, and surrounding areas to ensure guest safety.
Enforce all hotel and pool safety policies and procedures professionally and consistently.
Respond quickly to water rescues and emergency situations, administering lifesaving techniques such as CPR and First Aid as needed.
Provide courteous, professional assistance to guests and address questions or concerns.
Inspect pool areas and equipment to identify safety hazards or maintenance needs and report all incidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management in accordance with established procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly pool environment.
Maintain required certifications and participate in training and safety drills.
Assist with pool activities or special events as assigned.
Qualifications
Current Lifeguard Certification from a recognized authority (e.g., Red Cross or equivalent)
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required
Strong swimming ability and physical capacity to perform essential lifeguard responsibilities
Excellent observational and problem-solving skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure in emergency situations
Prior lifeguard or pool safety experience preferred, especially in a hospitality or resort setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service focus

Physical Demands
This position requires strong swimming ability, frequent standing, sitting, walking, and the capacity to lift or assist individuals in and out of the water during emergencies. Lifeguards must also be able to perform CPR, First Aid, and other rescue procedures, which may involve moderate physical exertion.
Work Environment
Work is performed in and around the hotel pool area, which may be indoors or outdoors and subject to varying weather conditions. The position involves direct interaction with guests in a fast-paced hospitality environment, often during weekends, holidays, and peak seasons.
