Job Overview
Working within the Logistics department and reporting to the Logistics / Export Compliance Manager, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, packaging, marking, and loading of shipments, of Nikkiso products and maintaining records of inbound and outbound shipments. They will also assist with the warehouse functions as needed.
This position is located at our facility in North Las Vegas, NV.
Responsibilities
Preparing and maintaining shipment paperwork
Maintain logs and records of shipments
Coordinate shipments with customer and, or freight forwarder for pick up / delivery
Troubleshooting shipping issues (Loading plans, multiple truckloads, Weight limitations, driver issues, etc.)
The adequate Packing and Marking of products, to prevent loss or damage, which is to be consistent with the transportation methods
Checking orders for accuracy. Staging crates/orders in preparation for pick ups
Tracking and updating customers the status of shipments
Crate Markings per customer requirements (ink stenciling, spray paint, etc.)
Interacts with truck drivers and carriers, Loading trucks & trailers
Assisting in warehouse functions
Making local deliveries
Cycle counts
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP). Working knowledge of online shipping services – FedEx.com, DHL.com, & UPS.com. Also, Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.
Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, best practices, and requirements
Working knowledge of Domestic and International shipping requirements.
At least 2 years Logistics experience in a manufacturing environment
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Forklift certified
Valid Driver’s License
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, type, and write
Reach with hands and arms, bend, stand on a stool or climb, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls
Use standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, printers, copiers, etc.
Lift files and open desk drawers and filing cabinets
Work in both office and shop environments at company sites
Lift 50 pounds
Conditions may vary at each location, yet are essentially the same as listed
Environmental Safety Requirements
Complete safety training requirements
Participate in other training as directed by the company or manager
Wear Nikkiso approved PPE as needed
Ensure all safety requirements and PPE requirements are enforced as needed
Failure to comply with safety requirements may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
