Worker Type: Employee Job Post End Date: 07/30/2026 About this opportunity: Reporting to the LTCHO Maintenance Superintendent, the LTCHO Specialist provides leadership, technical expertise, and strategic support to the Lloydminster Thermal & Conventional Heavy Oil (LTCHO) Maintenance team. This role is accountable for driving maintenance excellence through safety leadership, work management governance, reliability improvement, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives. The LTCHO Specialist serves as a subject matter expert in maintenance and reliability best practices, planning and scheduling, and SAP PM work management processes. Working closely with operations, maintenance, contractors, vendors, and corporate stakeholders, this position ensures maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with corporate standards and operational objectives. What you’ll do: Champion a strong maintenance safety culture by leading safety initiatives and promoting safe work practices across operations. Lead maintenance and reliability projects from development through execution, ensuring alignment with operational objectives. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintenance effectiveness, equipment reliability, cost optimization, and operational excellence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver maintenance and reliability objectives. Support procurement and category management activities, including contract development, vendor management, and commercial negotiations. Establish, monitor, and optimize maintenance KPIs, providing regular performance reporting and actionable insights. Serve as the primary liaison for vendor performance reviews and Joint Execution Team meetings, driving accountability and continuous improvement. Develop, maintain, and enhance maintenance procedures, work instructions, and standard operating processes to ensure consistency and compliance. Act as the subject matter expert for Work Management, Planning & Scheduling, and SAP PM, ensuring best-practice utilization across maintenance operations. Lead maintenance competency and training programs, ensuring employees and contractors meet required qualifications and performance standards. Who you are: Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements: Legally authorized to work in Canada Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, operations leadership, or a related role within the oil and gas industry. Demonstrated success leading complex, high-impact projects and initiatives across large, multidisciplinary organizations. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Experience with Safe Control of Work, Asset Risk Management, and the development and implementation of operational procedures, standards, and competency assurance programs. Proven ability to manage budgets, contracts, project schedules, and cost controls while delivering operational and business objectives. Working knowledge of maintenance and work management systems, including SAP, and experience supporting facility turnarounds, project execution, Management of Change (MOC), and risk assessment processes such as HAZOPs. Experience working in Thermal and Conventional Heavy Oil operations and facilities. Familiarity with applicable industry codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices. As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments. For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines.  A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
