Job Description Job Summary
The Manufacturing Machine Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of production equipment and machinery in a manufacturing facility. This role ensures machines operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clean, sanitize, and maintain manufacturing equipment, tools, and work areas
Remove debris, grease, and build-up from machinery using appropriate cleaning agents and tools
Disassemble and reassemble machine parts safely for deep cleaning when required
Follow cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
Identify and report equipment issues, wear, or damage to maintenance or supervisors
Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment
Maintain records of cleaning activities and completed tasks
Assist production or maintenance teams when needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience in manufacturing, janitorial, or industrial cleaning is a plus
Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
Basic understanding of machinery and cleaning techniques
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good physical stamina; ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in industrial environments
Working Conditions
Exposure to loud noises, moving machinery, and industrial cleaning chemicals
Requires use of PPE such as gloves, goggles, and safety shoes
May involve lifting, climbing, and working in tight spaces
Shifts may include nights, weekends, or overtime depending on production needs
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Ability to work in hot, cold, or humid conditions
