Job Description This position works closely with Plant Director / Production Manager to foster a continuous improvement environment within the Jackson facility. Work directly with the Maintenance Supervisor / Tooling Supervisor / Automation Supervisor to meet operational goals & objectives while meeting product quality standards.
Essential Jobs and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Report to Plant Director
Manage plant Technical Resources; maintain equipment and processes appropriately; staff Departments effectively.
Meet operational goals and objectives; meet product cost targets; meet product quality objectives; meet safety goals and objectives.
Work with Scheduling to Schedule PM’s , and necessary work to be completed
Work with Production Supervisors on training programs
Direct Maintenance / Tooling / Automation Supervisors in relation to production equipment, costs
Prepare and maintains budget goal
Identify processes and create programs that will reduce costs, reduce scrap and rework and keep overall product costs highly competitive.
Solicit ideas and feedback from employees by creating a high level of engagement without compromising effective systems or authority.
Reduce manufacturing, production, quality and on time delivery variables by implementing a high degree of process control.
Manages Supervisors who oversee the day to day Plant Technical Resources
Ability to effectively handle employee relation issues.
Ability to serve as a qualified back up to the Production Manager
P & L Responsible for Machine up time and Efficiency’s
Must follow & comply to Safety & Quality Absolutes.
Must follow & comply with all ISO 9001, ASI-Food Safety, ISO 15378 requirements.
Must follow all regulatory laws & guidelines.
Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A college degree or equivalent experience in business or related disciplines is preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Manufacturing Equipment and Building Support Systems
Ability to problem-solve involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Capable of training others as needed.
Experience in INJ / SBM / EBM / IBM / RHB / Plastics manufacturing is preferred
Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, written and leadership skills
Strong interpersonal skills to be able to administer policies and procedures.
Proficient computer skills
Negative drug screen
Capable of working extended workdays and weekends as required.
Contribution to Safety, Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace by ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.
Support the accomplishment of your work groups through the quality, timeliness and professionalism of your attitude.
Supply accurate and timely data as required by performance tracking and reporting.
Apply resources in a manner that maximizes their effectiveness while assuring quality.
Maintain a work environment that will contribute to the assurance of safety and GMP compliance.
Adhere to established procedures, perform self-checking and pay attention to detail in the performance of you and your team’s work.
Notify management in a timely manner of any problems with procedural compliance.
Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.
Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency of your work.
Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.
Frontline Leader Responsibilities
Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)
Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible
