Position Overview
The Messaging Infrastructure Analyst III is a senior technical role responsible for the administration, engineering, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise messaging platforms and related infrastructure. This position provides advanced technical expertise for email systems, secure messaging services, compliance technologies, email security solutions, and supporting infrastructure. The analyst serves as a subject matter expert and works closely with engineering teams, cybersecurity, application owners, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and compliant messaging services.
Primary Responsibilities
Messaging Infrastructure Engineering
Design, implement, maintain, and enhance enterprise messaging platforms and supporting infrastructure.
Administer messaging technologies including Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, SMTP relay services, email security gateways, encryption solutions, and email archiving platforms.
Lead technical assessments and implementation activities related to messaging modernization, migrations, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
Support hybrid and cloud-based messaging environments while ensuring service stability and operational excellence.
Operations and Support
Provide advanced Level 3 support for messaging infrastructure incidents, problems, and escalations.
Troubleshoot complex mail flow, authentication, routing, deliverability, and performance issues.
Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
Participate in on-call support and major incident response activities.
Security and Compliance
Support secure email, encryption, retention, archiving, eDiscovery, and compliance solutions.
Partner with Cybersecurity, Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams to enforce messaging security controls and regulatory requirements.
Ensure messaging infrastructure adheres to security standards, vulnerability remediation requirements, and audit expectations.
Evaluate and implement security enhancements to reduce operational risk and improve platform resilience.
Project Delivery and Technical Leadership
Lead messaging-related projects and infrastructure initiatives from planning through implementation.
Develop technical designs, implementation plans, operational documentation, and support procedures.
Collaborate with internal technology teams and third-party vendors to deliver enterprise messaging solutions.
Provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior analysts and engineers.
Act as a subject matter expert during architecture reviews and strategic planning discussions.
Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
Monitor service health, availability, capacity, and performance metrics.
Identify opportunities for automation, operational efficiency, and service optimization.
Develop and maintain monitoring, reporting, and operational dashboards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across messaging and collaboration services.
Education and Experience Required:
Minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, and email security technologies.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale email environments and mail flow architectures.
Experience with messaging compliance, archiving, retention, encryption, and email security solutions.
Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application integration issues.
