Overview Job Title: OB Nocturnist Employment Type:  Full-Time Organization:  Central Maine Healthcare Location:  Lewiston, Maine Position Overview Central Maine Medical Center, in partnership with Prime Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated OB Hospitalist / Nocturnist to join our growing Women’s Health team. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered obstetric care in a supportive, collaborative environment during overnight hours. The ideal candidate is a confident, clinically strong physician who thrives in an autonomous night role while working closely with nursing staff, medical students, residents and support staff. We do approximately 900 deliveries annually and have a Level II NICU with in-house pediatrics and anesthesia. Nocturnist position (11 shifts/month. Responsibilities Provide in-house overnight obstetric coverage Manage labor & delivery triage, admissions, and emergencies Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections as needed Respond to OB emergencies, including fetal distress and urgent interventions Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU teams Ensure timely documentation and adherence to clinical protocols Support patient safety and quality initiatives Qualifications MD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology Active or eligible for medical licensure in Maine Strong experience in labor & delivery and obstetric emergencies Excellent communication and team collaboration skills Fluent in Lingala, French, Portuguese, or Somali is a bonus Pay Transparency Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $XX.XX to $XX.XX.
