As the Operations Product Manager , you will act at the responsible point of contact for the products within the Maritime Value Stream for production planning, supply chain, production, quality, and logistics to meet program milestones, successfully transition product to the factory, support on-time delivery of high-quality products, support rate-readiness activities, and achieve cost and sales targets.
What You Will Do
Accountable for end-to-end coordination of operational execution, including new product introduction, recovery planning, risk mitigation, and manufacturing readiness for the assigned products.
Establish key elements of strategic and tactical operation plans for the assigned products.
Serves as the central coordinator across functions, driving visibility, root cause resolution, and disciplined decision-making through tiered governance for the assigned product value stream.
Manage product schedule and budget and mitigate risks.
Ability to collaborate and manage cross functional teams to achieve required contractual and project deadlines
Cost Account Manager (CAM), Estimate at Complete (EAC) development, analysis, and presentation, understanding and use of Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk and opportunity management
Interface with both internal and external customers at Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), Gates, EACs, Program Management Reviews (PMRs), and customer visits/tours
Drive use of leading/lagging metrics in the monitoring of progress against plan and evaluation of root cause and implementation of corrective actions in support of a continuous improvement
Entails a candidate with strong leadership skills and the ability to convey effective direction to different audiences using strong written and verbal skills.
Expected travel up to 10%
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Prior experience in an Operations organization or in interfacing with Operations organization on a recurring basis
Experience in financial, manufacturing, material planning, Earned Value Management
Demonstrated analytical skills required for accurate material and manufacturing planning Systems (EVMS) and government programs are key traits
Familiar with SAP or other MRP systems
Drive Continuous Improvement projects - CORE, 6 Sigma and other Lean Manufacturing processes
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Qualifications We Prefer
Strong computer skills using MS Project, and MS Office products is highly desired
Proactive mindset with ability to strategically mitigate risk and find opportunities
