PA/NP – Epilepsy – Grand Rapids, MI

Corewell Health's department of neurological health in Grand Rapids, Michigan offers an excellent full-time opportunity for a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join their exceptional epilepsy team.  As an important member of the epilepsy section, you would be responsible for evaluating new patients as well as following established patients in the practice. The ideal candidate would be passionate about this patient population and have some initial neurology training.  This position will join the neurology department's multispecialty clinic on the northeast side of Grand Rapids to offer patient epilepsy care in a suburban setting at 275 Michigan.  We are open to both experienced APPs as well as new graduates.  Opportunity Highlights: Full-time position Outpatient practice with opportunity for inpatient responsibilities Excellent training and onboarding 60-minute initial evaluations and 30-minute follow-up appointments No nights, weekends or call required Potential virtual clinic day (half or full day) from home after significant ramp up as well as inboxology responsibilities Epic Electronic Medical Record Inboxology responsibilities: Review patient records, messages, diagnostic results, and history to assess their current health status and develop proper treatment plans Communication and collaboration with the care team to effectively communicate results, treatments plans, and give guidance to patients and their caregivers Communicate with providers from other specialties to collaborate patient care Documentation of patient records and EHR Complete billable services such as but not limited to: E-Visits Participate in process improvement initiatives for the Inboxology program Other duties as assigned Qualifications   Nurse Practitioner:  Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission  3 years of relevant experience current, relevant clinical experience  Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role as a Nurse Practitioner  LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan   CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)   Physician Assistant:   Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program  LIC-Physician Assistant - State of Michigan  CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants   CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)   Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital Right in the heart of Grand Rapids, you’ll find a nationally recognized hospital for patient quality and safety and the regional leader in full-service hospitals.
