Physical Plant - Groundskeeper

Job Summary: The Groundskeeper reports to the Grounds Supervisor in coordination with the Physical Plant Director with the primary duties of maintaining SWOSU’s grounds in an aesthetic and well-preserved manner. Acts as a resource for the Physical Plant department and builds effective, strong working relationships to enhance department operations and functions. Essential Duties Responsibilities: Provide support services to the department in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors Perform duties generally associated with grounds work; including care and maintenance of equipment Prepare and maintain beds for shrubs and ground cover Assist with debris, snow, and ice removal from sidewalks, walkways, and parking areas Use a variety of tools associated with grounds work Notify Supervisor, Director, Safety Coordinator, or Human Resources of any potentially dangerous equipment, practices, or violations of safety procedures Appropriate attendance and punctuality required Additional Responsibilities: Assist with debris, snow, and ice removal from entry areas Promote personal safety, safety procedures, and a safe work environment Assist in emergency situations as called upon Other duties as assigned Work Setting: Expectation of on-campus presence with attendance and punctuality Promote personal safety, safety procedures, and a safe work environment Assist with call-back situations as called upon Employment at will Full-time status 12-month appointment Non-exempt About SWOSU: With locations in Weatherford, Yukon, Sayre, and online degree programs, SWOSU is one of the leading regional universities in the country.
