Physician Assistant – Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Boston Medical Center – Brighton | Boston, MA Full-Time | On-Site Position Overview Boston Medical Center – Brighton is seeking a  Physician Assistant (PA)  to join our growing  Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)  program. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a  revitalized campus and expanding specialty service line , focused on delivering high-quality musculoskeletal and spine care to the community. Reporting to department leadership and working under the supervision of a Physiatrist, the PA will play a key role in both  direct patient care and program development , helping to build and shape PM&R services at BMC Brighton. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care in  outpatient clinic and inpatient consult settings Perform  history and physical exams , develop diagnoses, and implement treatment plans Order and interpret  diagnostic studies  including imaging, labs, EMG, and nerve conduction studies (NCS) Perform  musculoskeletal (MSK) injections , including ultrasound-guided procedures Assist with  specialized procedures  (e.g., Botox, spine-related interventions) Conduct  inpatient consultations, rounding, and discharge planning Collaborate with physicians on  spine triage and care pathways Manage  longitudinal care for complex rehabilitation and spine patients Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations Complete timely documentation, orders, and  prescribing (DEA required) Perform  peer-to-peer insurance reviews  to support timely care delivery Coordinate care across departments to ensure  efficient, patient-centered outcomes Support  referring provider outreach and service line growth initiatives Track clinical outcomes and contribute to  quality improvement efforts Why Join BMC Brighton? Be part of a  reimagined and growing hospital campus  within Boston Medical Center Health System Opportunity to  help build and shape a PM&R program  from the ground up Collaborative, team-based environment with strong physician partnership Exposure to a diverse patient population with complex rehabilitation needs Opportunities for  professional growth, leadership, and program development Qualifications Required Graduate of an  ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program Active Massachusetts PA license DEA registration Strong clinical and diagnostic skills Preferred Experience in  PM&R, Spine, Pain Management, or Orthopedics Experience with  ultrasound-guided procedures Familiarity with  EMG/NCS interpretation Skills & Competencies Advanced knowledge of  musculoskeletal and spine conditions Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to manage  high-volume, complex patient populations Critical thinking and problem-solving in rehabilitation care Patient-centered mindset with strong  empathy and engagement skills Experience navigating  insurance authorizations and medical necessity documentation Schedule & Work Environment Full-time,  Monday–Friday schedule (1.0 FTE) Blend of: Outpatient clinic Inpatient consults and rounding Procedural care On-site at BMC Brighton Compensation Range: $109,000.00- $158,000.00 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
