ERP is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability and Veteran. Responsibilities Schedule: Monday - Friday  0700-1600 - 8.5 hour shifts On-Call Hours: are from 0000 – 2359 Sunday through Saturday. Call responsibilities include a minimum of two (2) overnight call shifts per month, and one (1) weekend call shift every three (3) months. Overnight call coverage is defined as on-call availability from 1600 to 0700 the following morning. One (1) weekend call shift every three (3) months. Not to exceed 576 annual On-Call hours. Minimum two (2) overnight call-shifts per month.  Weekend call coverage is defined as continuous on-call availability from 0700 Friday through 0700 Monday. Following weekend call, the contractor shall provide post-call coverage on Monday from 0700 to 1600 to address any operative cases generated during the call period and to complete required clinical documentation and administrative duties.   Core Duties:  Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.  Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.   Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.   Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physical, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.   Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.   Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Following weekend call, the contractor shall provide post-call coverage on Monday from 0700 to 1600 to address any operative cases generated during the call period and to complete required clinical documentation and administrative duties.   Scope of Work of each contractor’s duties:  A contracted Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) San Diego would be responsible for a comprehensive range of clinical and surgical duties, catering to a diverse patient population of active-duty military personnel, their dependents, and retirees.  The surgeon would be an integral part of the Orthopedic Surgery Department.  Clinical and Patient Care Responsibilities Evaluation and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and the ordering and interpretation of diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs. This includes both outpatient and inpatient consultations.  Non-Operative Management: Develop and oversee non-surgical treatment plans for a wide array of foot and ankle conditions. This includes prescribing medications, managing physical therapy referrals, and referring patients for orthotic devices.  Pre- and Post-Operative Care: Manage all phases of surgical care, from initial pre-operative assessments and patient education to post-operative follow-up, wound care, and rehabilitation protocols.  Patient Population: Treat a wide range of patients, from young, active-duty athletic personnel with sports-related injuries to older, retired veterans with degenerative conditions. The patient base also includes pediatric patients.   Surgical Responsibilities  Surgical Procedures: Perform a full spectrum of foot and ankle surgeries, including but not limited to:  Fracture fixation and trauma reconstruction for injuries sustained in both combat and non-combat settings.   Arthroscopic procedures for joint and cartilage repair.  Total ankle replacements and other joint reconstruction surgeries.  Tendon and ligament repair and reconstruction.  Correction of complex foot and ankle deformities.  High-Acuity and Complex Cases: Given NMCSD's role as referral hub, the surgeon must be proficient in managing complex, high-energy trauma, and severe extremity injuries.   Limb Salvage: Participate in complex limb salvage procedures, which may involve collaboration with other surgical subspecialties such as plastic and vascular surgery.    Administrative and Educat
