We believe that, together, we can create a brighter, more sustainable future while tackling the most pressing challenges of the 21st century.    We are looking for a   Princip al   Equipment ­ ­ ­ ­   Engineer   to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies.  This role will   report   to   Equipment Engineering Senior Manager   and based in   Fremont CA .  This   is a fully on-site, in office role.    Role and Responsibilities:   Support equipment across various manufacturing lines, with differing levels of complexity   Skilled in diagnosing and fixing manufacturing equipment   Automated Equipment   Provide support for equipment through PLC and HMI programming, encompassing motion and servo control systems   Ability to   modify   existing control logic to improve safety,   performance   or throughput   Participate in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designed   Installation,   commissioning   and support of vision systems for tracking and quality inspections   Conducts engineering tasks in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems for testing, material handling, welding, and machining equipment   Oversee equipment installation as well as start-up and implementation projects   Partner with Advanced Manufacturin g   Engineers to   lead FAT, equipment validation, and production handover   Develop equipment specifications and documents for the manufacturing assembly,   testing   and material handling processes   Oversee project timelines, financial planning, and prepare comprehensive status reports for leadership   Work with vendors, facility engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production teams to manage project implementation   Find ways to boost safety, cut costs, enhance efficiency, and raise quality   Prepare or approve system as-built drawings   Willingness to work flexible hours, including off shifts and weekends, as required by business needs   Skills and Experience:     Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical , Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or related engineering field.   Manufacturing or Equipment Engineer with   7 +   years experience   working in a manufacturing environment .   Experience with robotics, motion control, pneumatics, and machine vision systems.   Equipment requirement development and specification writing   Knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards   Knowledge of   Autocad ,   Solidworks   and MS Office suite   Strong communication   and collaboration skills   Desired Qualifications:   Experience in high-volume thin ceramics, solar,   or   battery manufacturing is a plus   E xperience in thermal equipment/process development and high-volume manufacturing integration.   Physical Requirements:   Ability to stand/walk for up to   8-10   hours per shift   Occasionally lift/carry up to 25   lbs   Use hands and fingers to   operate   machinery controls and computers throughout the shift   Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials   Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff   Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation   Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots)   Bloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.   We are committed to compliance with all applicable laws   providing   equal employment opportunities.   All qualified applicants,   will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, national origin, protected veteran status, or   on the basis of   disability.
