We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to work in Fulton, MD. What You Will Do Serve as a technical lead and systems engineer on challenging software development projects such as the Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S) or the Battlespace Command and Control Center (BC3). Be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies. Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (IV&V). Serve as Technical Leader of medium to large engineering development teams. Act as systems engineering discipline subject matter expert for department, mentoring other engineers and solving critical technical problems with innovative solutions. Travel to customer sites as needed. Qualifications You Must Have Experience with design and requirements derivation for software; some coaching and mentoring experience. Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience Qualifications We Prefer Experience with any of the following systems: Link 16 Tactical Data Link (J series messages), VMF (K series messages), Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control systems. Understand and apply commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the systems engineering field (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, Mil-Std-499B). Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect, and Cameo. Experience with configuration and test of cloud-based software deployments. Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) techniques and applying them as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
