Product Development Engineering Manager (Solventum)

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Product Development Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
Partnering closely with senior leadership to define product strategy and long-term technical direction
Partner with PMO and Project Managers to assign resourcing, prioritizing, initiating, and planning technical programs for approved projects. Responsible for technical program outcomes.
Leading technical team consisting of mechanical, electrical, software/embedded systems, dressing, and materials development.
Providing technical team leadership and guidance through the stages of requirements definition, design, implementation, verification, validation, and scale-up as part of a cross-functional team.
Leading the completion of complex cross-functional programs having major importance to the organization. Examples include creation of new products and technologies, customer applications, cost reduction/source of supply/quality improvement, product line extensions, etc.
Energizing work groups by creating a climate which encourages innovation, risk taking, teamwork, and high productivity.
Working collaboratively with multiple functions and/or organizations. Encouraging and coordinating same for assigned personnel.
Maintaining a strong operational knowledge of organization’s technologies, products, customers and customers’ needs.
Developing an in-depth knowledge of product development, manufacturing, engineering, financial, legal, sales and marketing functions and interfaces as required.
Facilitating and generating appropriate intellectual property protection plans for product development.
Managing product documentation through Change Order and Release processes.
Participating in all reasonable work activities deemed suitable and assigned by management.
Conforming to, supporting and enforcing all Company policies and procedures.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution AND eight (8) years of experience as a technical product developer and/or leading technical product development teams in a regulated industry.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Experience supporting technical product development or systems engineering activities within a regulated design environment (e.g., medical device, FDA- or ISO-regulated)
Experience applying industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), product validation processes, or UL/IEC standards
Experience leading teams, including direct people management responsibilities
Experience supporting technical product development or systems engineering activities involving electronics, mechanical, or software development
Experience defining system requirements and supporting system integration, testing, verification, and validation activities
Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives related to processes, tools, or technical deliverables
Experience facilitating technical discussions or engineering reviews, such as design reviews or technical working sessions
Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical risks throughout product development or system design activities
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support technical programs or product development initiatives
