For over 90 years, Hohmann & Barnard, Inc., has pioneered innovative solutions for the masonry industry. As a global leader in manufacturing construction materials for the building envelope, we offer anchors and reinforcement, moisture protection, thermal performance, wall estimating software, and air barrier systems for commercial and residential masonry markets.
This role is a department management position responsible for the technical design of Hohmann & Barnard products and related manufacturing processes, internal or outsourced. Manages product standards, those existing and in development, for the purposes of quality assurance and product improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Creates / manages written product standards and drawings in the applicable software
Retains an understanding of manufacturing processes / costs across all H&B facilities
Establishes strategic partnerships with outsourcing manufacturers for processes / technologies not native to H&B facilities
Manages execution for custom / specialty fabrication opportunities
Assists Sales team with feasibility judgement for new / custom product inquiries
Manages the Stage and Gate process for new product launch initiatives
Interacts with the ATS team for Voice of Customer needs assessments for product development
Collaborates with Senior Costing personnel for product cost analysis
Interacts with the Project Engineering team for product feasibility / capacities
Establishes relationships with outside manufacturing resources for product procurement or Private Label opportunities
Actively participates in related Construction Industry Associations to grow knowledge base in product requirements, trends, and needs
Perform additional projects, duties or assignments as directed by management.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
B.S. Engineering or other relevant technical degree
Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing process
Proficient in AutoCad, Revit, Solidworks
Working knowledge of construction processes with relevant in field experience
Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools
