JOB TITLE: Production assistant LOCATION: Bakersfield, CA ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM: TelevisaUnivision is seeking a production assistant with a strong news judgement for Daily Hire. This position will be responsible for shooting, editing, and covering breaking news in a fast-paced environment in Kern County. We are looking for a team player who is a self-starter and is able to work independently or with the team. Respond to breaking news in a timely manner and be flexible.  ABOUT YOU : The ideal candidate must be able to deal with various strong and dynamic personalities. This is a demanding position in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who can work independently while also being part of a team environment. Important traits include being communicative, resourceful, innovative, collaborative, and detail oriented. JOB RESPONSABILITIES : Respond quickly to breaking news shoot interviews, b-roll , edit and set up live shots  Go to news sites in all types of weather and capture newsworthy events as they happen Meet daily deadlines in a high-pressure news environment Work collaboratively with talent, photographers, producers, technical director, and news director and able to take story from concept to completion independently Maintain assigned equipment and vehicles and operate in a safe manner Able to improvise when situation warrants and troubleshoot  Work well with digital cameras to shoot interviews Operate a LiveU backpack YOU HAVE : Bilingual English/Spanish Must have working knowledge of television news photography and technology Be able to lift and carry broadcast video equipment (approximately 45 pounds) Must have and maintain a good driving record and a valid driver’s license Familiar with the Kern County area Adobe Premier proficiency Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Must be able to multi-task, work well under extreme pressure, and communicate effectively Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States This position will require the employee to be part or join the KABE bargaining unit.
