Pratt & Whitney is seeking a customer-focused, technically proficient Project Engineer to join our Mechanical Systems, Externals & Nacelles (MSEN) engineering organization. MSEN is a dynamic team responsible for the design, development, integration, and certification of gas turbine engine systems supporting our commercial engine programs. In this role, you will lead cross-functional engineering activities supporting the GTF and V2500/C390 programs. You'll collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and airframers to drive project execution, resolve technical challenges, and deliver innovative solutions that meet program objectives for cost, schedule, quality, and performance. What You Will Do: Coordinate engineering activities and technical task execution with suppliers, customers, airframers, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful program delivery. Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and execution plans to achieve program milestones and on-time task completion. Communicate project status, key performance metrics, risks, and mitigation plans to the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) and Engine Design & System Integration (EDSI) leadership. Lead Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and airframers to drive alignment, resolve issues, and support timely decision-making. Coordinate field support activities, including customer support documentation and leak testing with Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities to ensure product performance and customer satisfaction. Travel: 15% (Domestic and International). What You Will Learn: Gain experience managing engineering projects from planning through execution by coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, suppliers, customers, and airframers. Develop expertise in working directly with customers, suppliers, MRO facilities, and airframers to resolve technical issues, support field activities, and ensure successful product delivery. Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and Agile workflows while presenting program status to leadership and facilitating IPT meetings. Qualifications You Must Have: A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, and 2 years of relevant engineering experience; or an Advanced degree in a related field. Qualifications We Prefer: Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney's Leadership Operating Model or a comparable project execution framework. Demonstrated project management and organizational skills; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to develop creative solutions for complex technical and business challenges. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and working directly with customers, suppliers, and external partners. Department/Segment Overview: Mechanical Systems, Externals, & Nacelles (MSEN): The MSEN Engineering organization is responsible for the design, development, and in-service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models. Technical disciplines include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, System Modeling, Mechanical Design analysis for bearings, gears, and seals, and fluid-thermal modeling of associated components and systems.
