Job Title: QA Automation Engineer - Robot Framework
Location: Omaha, NE ( Onsite - 5 days a week)
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Robot Framework QA Automation Engineer to help drive quality across complex, integrated systems. In this role, you will lead test planning, design, and execution across manual and automated testing efforts, while building scalable automation solutions that improve release confidence, speed, and product quality. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify risk, resolve defects, and continuously enhance testing practices in an Agile, quality-first environment.
Responsibilities Design, plan, and execute comprehensive test strategies for complex systems and integrated applications.
Perform manual and automated functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing to validate business and technical requirements.
Develop, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks using Robot Framework, as well as tools such as Playwright, Selenium, JUnit, and TestNG.
Create and execute API tests using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, and SoapUI.
Identify, document, track, and manage defects through resolution, including participation in defect triage and root cause analysis.
Partner with developers, product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage aligns to risk.
Support requirements analysis and apply risk-based testing approaches to prioritize validation efforts.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to improve test execution efficiency and release readiness.
Contribute to test data management, environment setup, and ongoing quality engineering best practices.
Help improve QA processes, test coverage, framework reliability, and overall team effectiveness.
Mentor team members and provide guidance on automation, test strategy, and quality best practices where needed.
Support Agile and DevOps delivery models by embedding testing early and continuously throughout the SDLC.
Qualifications Required 3 to 7 years of strong experience in test planning, test design, and test execution for complex systems.
Hands-on experience in manual and automated testing, including functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Proven expertise with Robot Framework and familiarity with modern automation tools such as Playwright and Selenium.
Experience using JUnit and TestNG for automation and test execution.
Solid experience in API testing with Postman, REST Assured, and SoapUI.
Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript.
Good working knowledge of SQL for test data validation and backend verification.
Experience with version control tools such as Git and GitHub.
Familiarity with test management tools including Jira, Zephyr, and TestRail.
Experience working with build and automation tools such as Maven, Gradle, GitHub, and Jenkins.
Understanding of Agile and DevOps testing practices and automated test integration within CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner is preferred.
Knowledge of SDLC and STLC best practices.
Understanding of testing approaches for complex, integrated, or safety-critical systems is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and stakeholder collaboration.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Leadership, mentoring, and continuous process improvement capabilities are highly valued.
The base salary for this position is $62,000 to $ 65,540 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance.
