We invite you to learn more about career opportunities with us and consider submitting your application.   Quality System Engineer Mueller Company, a subsidiary of Mueller Water Products and publicly traded company (NYSE: MWA) is the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries and North America's largest and only full-line supplier of potable water distribution products.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES •    Drive process discipline, connect with stakeholders to increase ownership of process and adherence to standards •    Responsible for maintaining the sites ISO certification •    Manage overall efforts and activities of the Quality Management System •    Work with product engineering to define, establish and publish quality specifications, procedures and standards for raw materials, in-process, and finished products •    Develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans, and process control procedures that will ensure production of finished products, which meet quality specifications and standards •    Develop and implement QMS adhering to all ISO standards •    Develop and implement an audit program •    Drive lean and statistical process control throughout facility by ensuring standard utilization of Lean Six Sigma practices •    Lead Kaizen Events and Six Sigma projects within and across operations to optimize Value Stream performance •    Demonstrate a commitment to engage teams in other departments and divisions of the organization •    Lead projects to drive change and achieve productivity and quality improvements •    Develop, establish and monitor quantitative organizational performance measurement systems to drive continuous improvement •    Facilitate a high level of employee participation on teams and in events to foster high involvement, accountability, and results REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS •    Strong written and verbal communication skills •    Understands lean manufacturing and can demonstrate various lean practices •    Proactive, “take the reins” mentality when it comes to addressing supplier quality issues •    Able to build relationships internal and external to the facility •    Able to build and execute a medium-to-the-mistake strategy for both the quality and continuous improvement functions. •    Comfortable with change and developing and executing new ideas.  Managing the status quo is not enough to succeed in this position.     •    Comfortable coaching, developing, and holding others accountable •    Demonstrated ability to successfully achieve goals through influence •    Possess an analytical mindset •    Ability to adapt to system/technology changes as well as use of current systems •    Strong organizational skills •    Ability to blend multiple sources of data to formulate opinions and recommendations •    Exposure to global thought process and diversity •    Ability to create, follow and challenge standard work processes daily •    Ability to identify roadblocks in material/information flow and manage exceptions •    Demonstrated advanced Excel skills •    Demonstrated risk awareness and mitigation •    Knowledge of statistical process control techniques DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS •    Six Sigma black belt preferred •    Experience working with rubber injection and compression molding is a plus EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS •    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline preferred •    Five (5) + years’ experience in supervision in a manufacturing environment •    Ten (10) + years progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/technologies/processes related to the position •    Supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to lead towards common goals •    Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment in metal machining and fabrication PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS •    Ability to remain in stationary position or standing position for prolonged periods and alternate between •    Ability to repeat gross or fine manipulation that may include the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers •    Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, steel-toed or metatarsal-guarded shoes, and/or ear plugs, while working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment.   •    Ability to constantly communicate with others to exchange information in person, via phone, or via use of computer. •    Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 pounds in weight in all directions •    Ability to occasionally reach overhead or at or below shoulder level •    Ability to work around hot heavy machinery.  •    Ability to work in an open warehouse environment, subject to seasonal weather (hot/cold) •    Must be able to function in a high-pressure productio
