Job Summary:
JOB SUMMARY
The radiation therapist is an integral part of the radiation oncology treatment team. This person is responsible for the accurate delivery of therapeutic radiation treatments to patients and simulations for patient treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist. The therapist must have a thorough understanding of the rationale for radiation therapy as well as skills in patient assessment and interpersonal communication.

Are you an ARRT-certified Radiation Therapist seeking a flexible PRN opportunity in a patient-focused oncology setting? Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center Franklin is seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist to join our growing Radiation Oncology team and help provide exceptional cancer care to patients throughout Franklin, Williamson County, Nashville, and Middle Tennessee.
This position offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art Varian TrueBeam radiation therapy technology while enjoying the flexibility of a PRN schedule and competitive compensation. We welcome experienced Radiation Therapists, including those returning to clinical practice who may be a little rusty, as long as they bring a strong commitment to patient care, reliability, adaptability, and teamwork.

Varian TrueBeam
Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
Deep Inspiratory Breath Hold (DIBH) for left-sided breast cancer treatment
Aria and Epic electronic medical record systems

What You'll Do
Deliver safe, accurate, high-quality external beam radiation therapy treatments using Varian TrueBeam technology
Verify treatment positioning and imaging according to established protocols
Document treatments and patient information within Aria and Epic
Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other oncology professionals
Educate and support patients throughout their treatment experience
Maintain the highest standards of patient safety, quality, and compassionate care
Demonstrate flexibility to occasionally adjust scheduling based on patient volume and clinic needs
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a dependable, patient-centered Radiation Therapist who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and can step in confidently to support clinical operations when needed.
Required Qualifications
ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy
Current BLS Certification
Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Radiation Therapy experience
Experience with Varian technology, TrueBeam, IGRT, and SGRT preferred but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable attendance and scheduling flexibility
Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary oncology team
Experienced therapists returning to practice are encouraged to apply. While this role is not designed for new graduates, candidates with prior Radiation Therapy experience who may need a brief refresher are welcome to be considered.
