Department: Transit Operations Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The Evening Shift Supervisor is a key member of the Razorback Transit Operations Team and is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of evening transit services for the University of Arkansas. This position provides direct oversight of evening shift Bus Operators and assists with daily operations, employee supervision, service monitoring, training coordination, recordkeeping, customer service response, and operational reporting. The position serves as an on-site operational leader during evening service hours and is expected to exercise sound judgment, communicate clearly, reinforce safety and customer service standards, and ensure compliance with Razorback Transit policies and procedures. Work schedules may vary based on service needs. During peak service periods, the typical schedule may include 2:30 p.m. to midnight During non-peak service periods, the typical schedule may include 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Weekend work is required, and the position is subject to shift rotation with other supervisory positions. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or educational equivalent. At least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity involving operations, personnel management, transportation, logistics, customer service, or a related area. At least one year of experience in public transit operations, dispatch, communications, commercial vehicle operations, or a related area. Class B Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate. Clean driving record. Experience preparing reports, documenting incidents, maintaining personnel records, or supporting compliance-related recordkeeping. Preferred Qualifications: At least three years of experience supervising, managing, dispatching, or coordinating commercial vehicle, public transit operations or a related transportation field. Experience providing transportation or customer-facing services in a university, campus, municipal, or public service environment. Experience using scheduling, dispatch, fleet management, or transit operations software. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of supervisory practices, personnel management principles, and applicable institutional rules and procedures. Knowledge of transit operations, service monitoring, route management, customer service standards, and safety practices. Knowledge of methods and procedures used in maintaining supplies, equipment, records, and operational documentation. Ability to supervise
