Description of Work Broughton Hospital is hiring multiple Licensed Recreational Therapy Assistants (LRTA) for our Recreational Therapy team. The LRTA will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating recreational therapy services under the clinical supervision of our Licensed Recreational Therapists. The LRTA will assist the Recreational Therapist in the implementation of treatment plans using interventions that are designed to improve functionality based on Physician orders. Duties include independently monitoring patients and their progress within the groups that are prescribed. They will formally document patient behaviors, reactions, and progress and may also recommend changes to patient regimens and treatment plans based on daily patient observation. They will support treatment team goals as assigned and provide group and individual services on their assigned unit(s) and in the Treatment Mall. This individual must be able to effectively communicate in oral and written fashion and must be able to maintain positive working relationships with patients, a variety of professionals, and the community. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $34,066.00 - $51,099.00 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Graduation from an associate degree program in recreational therapy or therapeutic recreation Management prefers candidates with the following : Experience planning individual/group interventions Psychiatric experience and/or having completed an internship in a psychiatric setting Conditional Requirements: Selected applicants must be able to pass a State Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check, and complete and pass BLS/CPR training and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation.
