It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work Are you ready to take a lead role in assisting a Regional Recruitment Team and sourcing top talent to meet the critical needs of the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction? As our Regional Recruitment Lead (Agency HR Consultant II), you'll be one of the driving forces behind recruitment initiatives across the state, ensuring that a variety candidates are sourced and retained in alignment with departmental needs. As our Recruitment Lead, you will play a pivotal part in managing the daily operations of a dedicated team of Regional Recruiters, guiding their efforts and overseeing statewide hiring activities while working closely with the Recruitment Supervisor and Talent Acquisition Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute recruitment strategies while fostering partnerships with communities and organizations to expand our talent pipeline. You’ll mentor and train a dedicated team of Regional Recruiters, providing guidance and oversight to keep our recruitment processes seamless, efficient, and aligned with our strategic goals. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Mentor & Train: Lead Regional Recruiters in their daily responsibilities, from sourcing to candidate engagement, offering hands-on training and real-time feedback on active recruitment tactics for hiring events and recruitment events/fairs. • Oversee Recruitment Operations: Manage and optimize daily recruitment processes to ensure seamless execution of events and hiring activities. • Ensure Strategic Alignment: Coordinate with the Recruitment Supervisor and Talent Acquisition Manager to ensure all recruiter activities are in line with departmental goals, focusing on certified and non-certified positions, ensuring recruitment activities align with agency-wide goals for all job classifications. • Statewide Engagement: Stepping in to provide coverage, assisting with auditing recruiting practices and processes, and delivering additional training and support for hard-to-fill positions, enhancing the efficiency and reach of our team. • Community Partnership: Assist the Recruitment Supervisor to lead special initiatives targeting local partnerships and community engagement to bolster recruitment. Partnership can be both internal and external to the agency/department. • Collaborative Coordination: Work hand-in-hand with hiring managers across divisions to understand and meet recruitment needs effectively. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Grade Range: $55,221- $96,639 Recruitment Range: $55,221- $74,000 This Role Is Eligible To Be Hybrid After Orientation And Requires Onsite Reporting Located at 2020 Yonkers Road, Raleigh , NC. Special Requirement Must be willing to work occasional overtime, weekends and nights.  Occasional travel can be required and be planned and unplanned at times. A State Vehicle will be provided for approved travel in addition to other tools necessary to fulfill the expectations of the position such as a state vehicle, state laptop, state cell phone, printer, gas (WEX) card, recruiting materials and displays, etc. Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or providing work direction to recruitment staff or other team members, including monitoring assignments, providing feedback, or supporting employee development. Proven experience planning and implementing recruitment strategies for high-volume, specialized, or hard-to-fill positions, such as hiring events, targeted outreach, career fairs, or sourcing campaigns. Documented experience collaborating with hiring managers, educational institutions, workforce organizations, community partners, or professional associations to develop recruitment initiatives or strengthen candidate pipelines. Demonstrated experience compiling and analyzing recruitment data, preparing reports or dashboards, and communicating findings or recommendations to management or senior leadership. Proven experience coordinating recruitment activities across multiple locations, regions, or business areas while managing deadlines, competing priorities, and consistent service delivery.
