Description of Work Murdoch Developmental Center (MDC) is currently recruiting Registered Nurses for multiple positions on 1st shift. The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional nursing care. This RN provides evaluation, assessment, and assures coordination and implementation of care delivery. This RN acts as charge nurse when assigned, provides clinical services and consultation including medication and treatment administration, MD/Professional contacts, & care planning for health needs. ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 *A Sign-on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.* Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. We offer flexible shifts and pay additions for hours worked:  Shift  Work Schedule Shift Premium  1st  6:30am-3pm  10% Weekend Only  2nd  2:30pm-11pm  15% Weekday & 25% Weekend  3rd  10:45pm-6:45am  20% Weekday & 30% Weekend  *Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus* To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate. An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if: The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date) The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
