Summary Job Description: R egistered Nurse - PCU   RN   Part -Time ,   Third Shif t     BHCOR-Cor   PCU   Dept . I   Corbin , KY   PCU is a   20-bed   unit capable of monitoring patients via central telemetry 24 hours a day .    PCU serves as a place for the monitoring and care of patients   age   16 to geriatric with moderate or potentially severe physiologic instability, requiring technical support but not necessarily artificial life support.   Performs   care   requires   substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological,   physical   and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards.   Description:    Completes and documents patient assessments, care plans, and changes in condition. Updates care   plans   each shift with measurable goals and evaluates patient response to interventions.    Develops patient/family education and discharge plans.    Provides care according to policies, procedures, and physician orders.
