We are committed to providing extraordinary service to our customers, helping our employees improve, supporting our communities, and increasing the value of the company for our shareholders.   Position Overview This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering programs, plans and policies for a combination of the following functions: hazard management, emergency response, environmental and regulatory compliance for the renewables business. Key Responsibilities Work in close collaboration with Renewables Business Leaders, Site Leaders, EHS Leaders and the ANDE EHS enterprise team to ensure assigned matters are covered seamlessly and meet the overall needs of the organization. Develop and implement environmental policies and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations including Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Superfund Amendments & Reauthorization Act (SARA). Lead environmental permitting and reporting programs to ensure required permits are in place and regulatory required reporting is completed on-time and with a high degree of accuracy. Ensure emergency response pre-planning efforts including Emergency Action Plan (EAP), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan and Facility Response Plan (FRP) are maintained and meet regulatory requirements. Maintain programs to ensure permit required monitoring (ie: stack testing, continuous emission monitoring (CEM), relative accuracy testing (RATA), leak detection and repair (LDAR), wastewater, stormwater) is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. Support each facility with environmental regulatory agency interactions including public meetings, regulatory inspections and resolving non-conformances, as needed. Support due diligence activities including Phase I, Phase II and compliance auditing/red level risk identification for potential acquisitions or divestitures. Support EHS enterprise strategy for environmental talent development within the business. Manage consultants to assist in meeting environmental obligations, as needed. What is Expected of You and Others at This Level Provides leadership to managers, supervisors and/or professional staff Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related units Develops departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities Controls resources and policy formation in area of responsibility Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives Competencies Expected of You and Others at This Level Manages Conflict - Handles conflict situations effectively with a minimum of noise Communicates Effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences Decision Quality - Makes good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward Demonstrates Self-Awareness - Using a combination of feedback and reflection to gain productive insight into personal strengths and weaknesses Directs Work - Provides clear direction, delegation, and removes obstacles to get work done Resourcefulness - Secures and deploys resources effectively and efficiently Minimum Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s Degree required, master’s degree preferred 7-10 years’ relevant experience required Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software Physical Requirements and Working Environment Open to travel up to 30% - 40% Willing to periodically work extended hours when needed/required Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including climbing ladders & stairs, hot/cold climates, and working at heights Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer Located at the Central Office Building in Maumee, OH or an approved Renewables facility This job description is intended to give you a general understanding of the role and the type of work involved, but it may not include every responsibility or requirement.
