Job Details PRIMARY FUNCTION The internship will be 10 month commitment. Interns will alternate between functioning as a research coordinator and engaging in original research. Interns will have amble opportunity for shadowing and conference attendance and participation. Rebecca Loh, MD, will oversee the program. Interns will each have a physician research mentor matched to the interest of the intern guiding research and clinical experiences. Interns will also have a research coordinator mentor, who has 15 + years’ experience as chief coordinator in the GI Division. In addition to research, there will be an emphasis on mentorship and opportunities for shadowing and participation in a wide variety of GI and institutional conferences. Job Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. In the coordinator role, interns will receive training and then participate in all coordinator functions including interactions with the IRB at Jefferson and outside Jefferson - application, amendment, update, renewal, safety and other reporting and interactions, patient consent, regulatory compliance, data collection and organization, safety, auditing, initiation and site visits, and much more. Under the guidance of the research mentor, interns will experience deep involvement in clinical research and contribute to abstract presentation for regional and national meetings, and publication preparation.
