Job Description:
As a Rigger/Material Handler at BW Papersystems you would be responsible for preparing and shipping large industrial machinery to customers. You will handle all aspects of machine preparation, from disassembly and crating to loading and transportation logistics. This role requires operating heavy equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes while ensuring safe and efficient delivery of large manufacturing systems.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Prepare large industrial machines for shipment to customers by disassembling, organizing, and securing components
Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to move heavy machinery and parts
Use basic hand tools to carefully take apart machines while following safety procedures
Build wooden crates and packaging for machine parts, ensuring everything is properly protected for shipping
Create detailed packing lists showing what parts are included in each crate or shipment
Install wooden skids under machines so customers can easily move equipment at their location
Load and unload trucks with machinery, working with drivers to ensure safe transport
Receive incoming materials and parts, checking for damage and verifying quantities match shipping documents
Maintain accurate records of all items received, shipped, and stored in the warehouse
Follow all company safety rules and procedures while working with heavy equipment and machinery
Other duties as assigned
Basic Requirements and Qualifications
HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience with standard hand tools
Able to accurately read a tape measure
Forklift experience required
