Job Summary:             The Sanitation Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and continuously improve a comprehensive sanitation program that encompasses team member safety, equipment, infrastructure, and people development in order to ensure safe food for our customers. The Sanitation Manager ensures that the plant is in compliance with all company, state, federal, and local laws, regulations, guidelines, standards, etc. relating to sanitation. Completes documentation and carries out responsibilities in accordance with company policies. Job Related Skills/Responsibilities Oversee the proper and timely cleaning and sanitation of all processing areas within acceptable levels consistent with company and USDA guidelines. Conduct preoperational inspection on a daily basis with FSQ Conduct and assist with swab testing of all product and non-product surfaces to control bacteria growth. Complete all necessary paperwork relating to sanitation, which may be required by company’s HACCP plan or USDA. This includes, but is not limited to: nightly sanitation check list, rodent and pest control program, necessary maintenance issues, etc. Create, document, and conduct proper sanitation procedures for sanitation associates. Follow Lean Manufacturing Processes; team building, consistency in high quality, preventative maintenance, good work place conditions, productive work, etc. Maintain usage, inventory, and communicate the proper chemicals necessary to maintain all equipment located within facility as well as any sanitation related to the building interior and exterior. Ongoing development of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and proper equipment cleaning procedures. Assist with plant audits. Work closely with chemical and safety equipment vendors. Reroute reports and records to designated plant personnel. Submits trainings, audit information to FSQ Manager. Be able to identify and clean all equipment on the plant floor. Clean overheads, units, pipes and lights. Clean the smokehouse. Squeegee floors and clean drains. Clean the warehouse. Sanitize rooms and equipment. Administrative Skills Able to organize and prioritize in a multi-tasking environment. Able to read and write legibly. Able to operate a computer. Supervise, direct and instruct Team Members. Personnel Follow good manufacturing practices and HACCP training, along with company pre-requisite programs, SOP’S and SSOP’s. Ensure that all team members are adequately and properly trained in safety, sanitation procedures, chemical handling and GMP’s, etc. Enforce all safety rules and company policies. Ensure proper staffing is maintained, including interviewing and hiring new team members. Implement and monitor training for new hires and continuing training of current team members. Maintain attendance records, counsel team members with poor attendance, and follow up with coaching/discipline as appropriate. Appraise work performance: conduct appropriate reviews for team members; give coaching/discipline as appropriate in a consistent and timely manner. Review, correct, and approve timekeeping tool to ensure team members are paid correctly each pay period. Provide appropriate interpretation of company policies and safety procedures.
