This position is responsible to Implement and maintain defined IT solutions within the SAP S/4HANA Transportation management domain and ensure continuous improvement of solutions and their application.
The role involves collaborating with global and regional stakeholder teams to ensure seamless implementation, testing, and support of transportation management processes for the Americas region
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
Implement and support SAP S/4HANA TM processes aligned with business requirements
Coordinate with global and regional teams to align transportation process standards with regional requirements
Support and maintain integration between SAP TM and external 3PL logistics providers
Lead and coordinate testing activities with business stakeholders — identify, document, track, and retest defects through resolution
Serve as IT contact for TM business stakeholders across all project phases
Support Cutover and post Go-Live stabilization activities
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration/management or a related field and 4+ years of related experience; OR a master’s degree in information technology, business administration/management with 2+ years of related experience
Minimum 3 years of hands-on SAP Transportation Management implementation and support experience in S/4HANA or ECC environments
Experience with transportation charge management, carrier selection, and tendering processes
Experience with BRF+ configuration for transportation management rules and decision logic
Experience with freight planning across multiple transportation modes — road, rail, ocean, and air
Preferred Qualifications
SAP SD / Order to Cash (OTC) knowledge and TM-SD integration experience
SAP ABAP knowledge — ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot ABAP code
Experience with chemical or process industry transportation processes
Experience with temperature-sensitive shipment handling and refer logistics within SAP TM
Experience with Latin America logistics operations or Mexico-specific transportation interface integrations
Knowledge of international shipping, customs, and trade compliance requirements within SAP TM
Knowledge and Skills
Strong understanding of end-to-end transportation management processes — transportation planning, freight order management, execution, tracking, freight settlement, and freight cost calculation
Proficient in SAP TM configuration management
Proven experience supporting full project lifecycle — design, build, testing, go-live, and stabilization
Experience coordinating and executing structured testing activities (integration testing, UAT, regression) with business stakeholders
Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps for TM process navigation and execution in S/4HANA
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — ability to translate business requirements into system solutions
Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels
Self-motivated; ability to work independently under tight project timelines in a global matrix environment
Proven experience integrating SAP TM with external 3PL systems and logistics providers
Knowledge of SAP integration technologies — IDocs, RFC, BAPI, API, SFTP
Experience with EDI processes and message types relevant to transportation (shipment notifications, freight order updates, delivery confirmations)
Experience with interface monitoring and troubleshooting in a multi-system landscape
Work Arrangement
This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA on a hybrid schedule, with a minimum of 3 days per week in-office required
Occasional travel to regional production sites may be required
