JOB SUMMARY: To safely, efficiently, and cost effectively manage the hourly workforce on the Continuous Miner Sections to meet budgeted goals.
Major Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with State and Federal laws and Company policies.
Ensure safe work performance of assigned workforce
Develop crews to achieve company standards and goals, including ventilation, roof control, cleanup, rock dusting, water control, supply management, etc.
Ensure compliance with UMWA contract for area of responsibility.
Provide detailed verbal and written communication with workforce, supervisors, and cross shift supervisor, shift foreman, mine foreman, and mine manager.
Properly complete an accurate and detailed daily production and work accomplished report.
Expected to be dressed and ready to plan and coordinate shift responsibilities an hour prior to the start of your shift.
Responsible for accurate daily payment of all employees under your charge.
Comply with all assigned safety program elements.
Job Specific and/or Technical Skills Required
Must have PA State Assistant Mine Foreman Certification or PA State Mine Foreman Certification.
Ability to communicate, manage, motivate, and train.
Must have working knowledge of Federal and State Laws, UMWA Contract and Company Policies.
Must be able to read, understand, and use engineering maps, drawings, and plans.
