Salary: $40,492 - $59,500 + eligible for bonus program
Yusen Logistics is seeking a dedicated professional for the pivotal role of Security Surveilence Operator. A critical position within our 24/7 operation center. This role requires a high level of vigilance and dedication, as this position will be instrumental in maintaining the high standards of our Loss Prevention program.
Responsibilities
Monitor nationwide facilities in real time using CCTV, access control, alarms, analytics, and GPS‑tracking systems to identify potential security or safety risks.
Ensure the protection of facilities, yards, freight, personnel, and assets through proactive surveillance and timely escalation of critical events.
Use sound judgment and critical‑thinking skills to assess incidents and determine appropriate response actions.
Analyze live and recorded video feeds to identify suspicious activity, safety concerns, or threats and promptly elevate findings to appropriate stakeholders.
Monitor GPS devices and alerts for route deviations, unauthorized stops, or tampering and take immediate action, including escalation to site leadership, security personnel, transportation teams, or law enforcement when necessary.
Escalate major incidents to law enforcement when required, providing accurate real‑time information and coordinating internal communication to support effective response.
Follow established security procedures to ensure quick, compliant responses to Ai alerts, alarms, and calls for service.
Maintain system functionality by reporting hardware or software issues and ensuring continuous operational readiness of surveillance equipment.
Document incidents, observations, and system activity accurately in logs and reports.
Retrieve and store footage for investigations, audits, or safety reviews.
Collaborate with third‑party security and onsite teams to resolve security gaps or operational issues.
Maintain confidentiality of all video footage, system data, and sensitive information.
Support safety monitoring by identifying hazardous conditions or unsafe behaviors.
Perform routine system checks, audits, and camera/GPS verification tasks.
Communicate clearly with internal teams, site leadership, vendors, and emergency responders when needed.
Participate in training to stay current with surveillance tools, GPS systems, and emergency response protocols.
Perform additional duties assigned by Loss Prevention leadership to support evolving operational needs.
Qualifications
Skills Required
Strong situational awareness and the ability to quickly identify abnormal activity or security risks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear reporting and real‑time coordination
Flexible schedule to accommodate business needs.
Proficiency with CCTV systems, Microsoft Office, access‑control platforms, alarm monitoring tools, and GPS‑tracking software
Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively.
Knowledge to identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced, 24/7 operational environment.
Ability to research, investigate and complie information.
Planning and organizational capabilities to manage tasks efficiently.
Ability to initiate problem solving skills and critical thinking to navigate and resolve unexpected challenges.
Willingness to operate independently when required while maintaining integrity and professionalism.
Experience & Education Requirements
Professional Experience: 2–3 years of experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Command Center, Emergency Dispatch, or a high-volume remote monitoring environment.
Logistics Familiarity: Prior experience in loss prevention, cargo-theft monitoring, or supply chain security is highly preferred.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience using integrated security platforms (CCTV, GPS-tracking, and Alarm Monitoring) to manage real-time incidents.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field is a plus.
Desired Skills
Prior experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Command Center, or remote monitoring environment.
Familiarity with cargo‑theft prevention practices, freight‑movement monitoring, or logistics‑industry security operations.
Experience with GPS‑tracking platforms, telematics systems, or fleet‑monitoring technologies.
Knowledge of incident‑management systems, digital reporting tools, and case‑management platforms.
Working knowledge of access‑control technologies such as badge systems, door controllers, and audit logs.
Experience reviewing video for investigations, audits, or law‑enforcement requests.
Understanding of escalation protocols related to emergency response, law enforcement coordination, or high‑risk security events.
Experience in data analysis, trend reporting, or pattern recognition related to security activity.
Multitasking experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced operations or dispatch environment.
Training or experience in workplace safety programs (OSHA, safety compliance, hazard identification, etc.).
Bilingual communication skills, especially in high‑traffic operational regions (not required, but beneficial).
Familiarity with logistics operations, warehouse workflows, and yard‑security practices.
